BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS_Cycling Legends: Tomás Amezaga Atxa

Mr. Amezaga is a cyclist from an extinct kind.

Well gone through his 70´s, he has ridden more miles on a bike than most of us would do in ten lives.

He rides a time trial Zeus that was formerly owned by Spanish legend Peio Ruiz-Cabestany.

He knows every Tour de France mountain, having climbed legendary peaks such as Alpe d´Huez, La Madeleine, Croix de Fer several times.

He wears a REAL vintage jersey from KAS-Kaskol Team, of course in its "Tour de France colours" (that´s it, with blue body instead of the overall yellow)

Brakes are not touched while riding downhill and complaining is not something to be doing while climbing.

Samuel Sánchez, the latest King of the Mountain in 2011 Tour is his adoptive son.

If this was not enough, he is also father of Tomás, who works as an assistant for Euskatel Euskadi Professional Team.

And, lucky enough, we are now friends.

Well worth a Rouleur article, isn´t it?

ARCHBURST_Hainan Cycling Pavilion

Interesting project for a cycling club.

Function: Rental, Coffe Shop, Repair bike shop, and public (mini) velodrome.

A little bit tigh, but it´s half the fun.

By NL Architects.
